July 2022 PrismPOS Release Notes

Application updates from May 25 - June 22, 2022

PrismPOS is the preferred point-of-sale solution for PrismCore and Mosaic. As additional functionality is added to Mosaic, application APIs are expanding to offer standard behavior regardless of a store’s inventory management system. Along with essential data exchange, there is an ongoing initiative to unify POS configuration, content management, and transaction processing within Mosaic. This application makes use of enhanced Mosaic APIs to exchange data.

Miscellaneous Enhancements and Bug Fixes (all stores)

(Planned update failed in application staging) Credit Processing – PrismRBS continues to improve credit processing interfaces with each release. Code has been added to help prevent issues where a credit card payment was approved by Shift4 or FreedomPay but that message was not received by PrismPOS. While this fix may not address every situation that can occur, it does reconcile a known issue.

Date/Time Management – To support stores that are open past midnight and want sales after midnight to be included in Register and Cashier reports for the previous sales date, the Thunder Admin Tool > POS Parameters > POS Setup > Parameters includes a Report Hour Offset value. This value is now honored as expected. Before, when set to 2 the offset wasn't working.

Failed Import Notifications – The application has been updated to email PrismRBS support staff if a transaction fails to import as expected. This change ensure that support are notified as quickly as possible regarding potential problems.

Post Void – Users may now post void a refund of a transaction that was tendered with a Gift Card. Before the application was giving the error "Error Printing Receipt" and was failing to upload. The error is now reconciled and upload completes as expected.

Suspended Transactions – If a suspended transaction is called up on more than one registers, the first completed transaction will flow to Transaction Inquiry. The other transaction(s) will be allowed to be completed but will print a "Reprinted Receipt" and not flow up to Thunder Admin Tool > Transaction Inquiry. Previously, this scenario caused an “import failed” error. Previously, one register completed the sale and the other was cancelled causing an “(transaction number) Transaction import failed” error. This has been fixed so that if a receipt is pulled up on multiple registers and completed,

Tender Conversion – Several updates were made to manage foreign tender conversion in this update.

  • The Conversion Rate field in Thunder Admin Tool > POS Parameters > Tenders has been made more intuitive. Rather than a single Conversion Rate (from foreign to local currency) the Admin tool now includes a Conversation Rate "table" where the local currency is hard coded and the foreign currency can be assigned a foreign currency name.

  • The conversion amount is now displayed on the tender screen in a message similar to "Total due in <foreign currency> at <conversion rate> = <converted amount>".

  • The conversion rate was added to the receipt.
