Please note: This release DOES include back-office server updates. To ensure the release to your system goes as smoothly as possible, please confirm, with your IT team that user access to your server running Transfer Service (Nbc.Service.Transfer.Exe ) has administrator permissions that will execute the service installer automatically. If this request can not be met, PrismRBS support staff will need to apply the release manually and will need access to your servers the night of May 8th into and the morning of May 9th to manually deploy the release.

PrismPOS is the preferred point-of-sale solution for PrismCore and Mosaic. As additional functionality is added to Mosaic and PrismCore, application APIs are expanding to offer expected behavior regardless of a store’s inventory management system. Along with essential data exchange, there is an ongoing initiative to unify POS configuration, streamline content management, and enhance transaction processing quality.

Quick Menus w/ Persist

PrismPOS customers now have the option to keep a selected menu persistent so they can add multiple items to a transaction within that same menu.

A new option has been added in Thunder Admin Tool > POS Parameters > Quick Menu called “Quick Menu w/ Persist”. With this option selected, the menu will persist as items are added to a transaction and no longer return to the very first button. This allows a cashier to add multiple items from the same category without fewer screen taps. This feature is not enabled by default so current register behavior is unaffected until activated.

Significant Infrastructure Upgrade

Mosaic has undergone a significant upgrade to it’s infrastructure with the most recent .NET version from Microsoft. Although this change should go unnoticed in PrismPOS functionality, the .NET update did require significant effort in regression testing PrismPOS against the upgraded Mosaic platform.
