PrismPOS is the preferred point-of-sale solution for PrismCore and Mosaic. As additional functionality is added to Mosaic and PrismCore, application APIs are expanding to offer expected behavior regardless of a store’s inventory management system. Along with essential data exchange, there is an ongoing initiative to unify POS configuration, streamline content management, and enhance transaction processing quality.

Rentals

Mosaic Rental Return & Refund by XREF

For Mosaic stores, a rental refund/return can now be performed at POS using the rental XREF. Previously, if a Mosaic rental was sold at a register, the rental could not be returned using the rental XREF.

If the rental XREF entered does not match the current customer on the transaction, a warning prompt is shown.
If the entered XREF exists on a current, customer rental, the associated rental item will be added to the transaction.

Before, if the entered XREF that was associated with the customer on the transaction, the message “This customer has this book out as a rental. Do you want to return this as a rental book?” was being displayed. This has been changed so that the rental will be added to the transaction as a rental return/refund, with the message no longer being displayed.

Receipts

Transaction Department Charge Details on Receipts

PrismPOS users now have more control over transaction details that are prompted and displayed.

Additional fields at the register are captured for department charge tenders. These fields now display in a clear and organized manner on the customer's receipt.

Detail around department charge prompts have now been added to provide additional detail in relation to department charge transactions. When “Tender AR Dept Charges” is enabled from Thunder Admin > Add/Edit Receipts, charge prompts will now show on receipts if any field labels are configured.

Variant & Barcode Receipt Customization

PrismPOS customers now have better receipt customization with regard to variants and barcodes. Under Thunder Admin > POS Parameters > Receipts > Receipts tab, users now have the flexibility to include or exclude variant and barcode details on receipts.

‘Show Color’ checkbox will include/exclude variant 1 values on receipts.
'Show Size' checkbox will include/exclude variant 2 values on receipts.
‘Show Barcode’ checkbox will include/exclude the scanned barcode value in addition to the SKU.

Bugs and Small Enhancements

Additional checks have been put in place to ensure training mode transactions will not be sent to the main database. In a prior release, there were reports of specific instances where training transactions were added to the database. This has been fixed.
In Thunder Admin > POS Parameters > Users > Profiles tab > Register Module, if the ‘Allow Product Search’ checkbox is unchecked, product searching will require a manager override to be allowed. Previously, PrismPOS was allowing a user to search at the register even if unchecked. This has been fixed, and all other permissions were confirmed to work as expected as part of the fix validation.
The buttons “Open Text Receipt”, “Open Email Receipt”, “Download Sale Packet” and “Download Receipt” have all been fixed so that they work correctly for No Sale transactions. Previously, when a No Sale Receipt was displayed in Thunder Admin > Transaction Inquiry, the buttons were not working and would display an Oops error.
The Re-Export Sale button should now display the following message without error: “Unable to export sale. Sale does not have any Items and does not have any Tenders.”
At the register, cashiers can now refund single shipment online orders in Mosaic without error. An error was addressed where users were previously unable to refund specific web orders made on the website.
