March 23, 2022 PrismPOS Release Notes

PrismPOS is the preferred point-of-sale solution for PrismCore and Mosaic. As additional functionality is added to Mosaic, application APIs are expanding to offer standard behavior regardless of a store’s inventory management system. Along with essential data exchange, there is an ongoing initiative to unify POS configuration, content management, and transaction processing within Mosaic. This application makes use of enhanced Mosaic APIs to exchange data.

PrismPOS Services

Application slowness has been improved. Some actions such as login, item search, and transaction complete had become noticeably slow. Performance improvements have been made to speed up data search and updates.

Thunder Admin tool

User Interface – Application error messages have been reformatted to be better aligned with the admin tool user interface. Messages will appear in the center of the screen moving forward.

Non Merch menu – The admin tool now includes a “Non Merch” menu under Configuration.

PrismCore – This new menu will show non merch items that were created in the PrismCore application. Users may not edit Core’s non merch items, but they can audit what is available on POS against what was created in Core.
Mosaic – This new menu allows users to create and manage non merchandise items, since there is no mechanism to manage such items in Mosaic today. By design, non merchandise SKUs will not impact stock on hand. Non merch sales are simply captured as revenue for reporting purposes

Miscellaneous Enhancements and Bug Fixes

No Sale – Receipts for the No Sale function now include a register number, as expected.

Store Time Zone – The new Admin tool setting in Configuration > POS Setup > Parameters is now displayed correctly after save. Upon creation in the previous release, this value was not presenting correctly after save.

Quick Menu – If textbooks were added to the quick menu, the description did not appear. Descriptions now appear as expected.

Quick Menu (Mosaic Only) – Non merchandise items created in the Admin tool were not appearing in the POS Quick Menu search. This was fixed.
