Application updates from March 22, 2023 – April 19, 2023

PrismPOS is the preferred point-of-sale solution for PrismCore and Mosaic. As additional functionality is added to Mosaic, application APIs are expanding to offer expected behavior regardless of a store’s inventory management system. Along with essential data exchange, there is an ongoing initiative to unify POS configuration, content management, and transaction processing within Mosaic. This application makes use of enhanced Mosaic APIs to exchange data.

Register Updates

Taxable / Non-Taxable

Taxable and Non-Taxable button support has now been added to Prism2.0 register UIs. These buttons can be turned on and off using the "Show Tax/NonTax Buttons" parameter in Thunder Admin > POS Parameters > POS Setup > Parameters.

If enabled:

Non-Taxable button makes the entire transaction tax-free for current and added products, and Taxable button makes the entire transaction taxable.
For future support, a new database parameter has been included to prevent certain items from being affected by these tax buttons, which will contain UI controls in an upcoming release.

Miscellaneous Improvements and Fixes

Pop-Behind Error

A difficult-to-replicate bug reported by clients resulting in the register presenting an error window that sometimes popped behind the transaction summary window is now presented in the foreground. Previously, the error rendered both windows unclickable, forcing the cashier to restart the register.
