Verify readiness for PrismPOS Back office updates

In continuing efforts to provide better performance and security enhancements, the November PrismPOS release requires .NET 4.7.2 or later installed on the on-premise CommAdmin/POS Server (where the NBCTransfer Windows Service runs).

.NET 4.7.2+ is pre-installed on Windows Server 2019 or later, and is compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 or later. PrismRBS has done preliminary work to identify customers not running .NET 4.7.2+ and is in the process of updating those affected.

To prevent any disruption, there a several ways to verify the currently installed .NET:

• Execute the following PowerShell script on the CommAdmin/POS Server (where NBCTransfer runs) - it will write to the console window the current version of .NET installed.

OR

• From the CommAdmin/POS Server (where NBC Transfer runs), open the Start Menu and type: Turn Windows features, you will see a window similar to the below, with a checked .NET Framework 4.8 feature.

If you have determined that you are not running .NET 4.7.2 or 4.8, please contact PrismRBS support, or you may run the official Microsoft .NET 4.8 installer.
