April 2023 Mosaic Release Notes

Application updates from February 25, 2023 – March 24, 2023

Release to production: April 9, 2023

Release notes statement

New functionality added to Mosaic, is controlled by feature flags to ensure readiness prior to use in production environments. Throughout release notes the phrase “If enabled” is used to designate capabilities that may be turned on or off. Such options may be released for a limited audience or dependent upon additional updates. These options will still be referenced in release notes to make clients aware all new application capabilities.

Data Exchange

Customer Accounts - A properly formatted customer accounts import may now be processed unassisted via a Data Exchange job definition. The customer database will be updated, and the data exchange job log will be generated as expected.

Reports

Reconciliation Reports (POS Device & Cashier) - The “Shipping Tax” line was removed from reconciliation reports. This value was previous identified as a known issue since it was shown in both Revenue Breakdown and Tax Collected. You should now be able to reconcile the Revenue Collected and Revenue Breakdown without adjustments.

For more complete information in transaction details and to be consistent with the transaction export, the ‘View’ transaction modal includes the following updates.

  • There is an “X” option to enable close from the top of the modal view

  • Customer details including the account number, name, and ID information appear atop the transaction details.

  • If payment was by department charge, the department charge values are shown.

  • The Transaction header details including store location and transaction total appear in a single line.

  • Default barcode, variants, and serial number information is included in line-item details if values exist.

  • Tender details including charge account information or payment token values are now included.

Web Order Processing

Payment - For AR payment types, the agency and payment account names are now included with web order details in Mosaic.

Shift 4 - Web order processing has been altered to better handle Shift 4 error messages. Some previous messages were inconsistent with processing orders by credit token.

Tax Service - Although it is unlikely that the tax service will be unavailable, various scenarios have been tested and/or altered based on the availability of the Mosaic tax service. As part of this release, the tax service was intentionally disabled to confirm the behaviors captured here.

  • Web orders will still appear in Mosaic even if the tax service is unavailable at the time of import. Mosaic allows a user to manually update taxes or refresh the calculation during the Work Order process.

  • If the tax service is not available upon web order processing, the user will be notified and provided options to proceed with processing or return to the Work Order screen.

  • The shipping & handling value on web orders is presented regardless of the state of the tax service.

Miscellaneous Improvements and Fixes

Course Requests - The workflow to add a new book and check for digital was improved to ensure that all book formats are saved. Before, a failure to save a newly added book prior to checking for digital caused the print book ISBN to be lost from the course request.

Product Lookup -The product search modal that is presented by several Mosaic menus has been improved to include product variant information and type along with the product description. This update helps users identify a preferred product without needing to know the default barcode number.

Returns - The workflow for credit request maintenance has been improved to support the following actions.

  • Users may delete a credit request that is in a Proposed status and does not have any items and/or memos attached to it.

  • If a user attempts to delete a Credit request with Items and/or a memo the message “Cannot delete. Credit Request has items and/or memos attached to it” is displayed.

  • If changes have been made to an existing Credit request and user tries to add new credit request, Mosaic will save edits before the new credit request is added.

Sales Events - Sales events may now be configured to begin on the current day. Previously, sales were only allowed if they started at least one day in the future.

Tax Service -Tax rates are now displayed as expected, including the tax nexus (aka State) value.
