August 2022 Mosaic Release Notes

Application updates from June 23 – July 20, 2022

Release to production: August 7, 2022

Release notes statement

New functionality added to Mosaic, may or may not be immediately available to all clients depending on functional readiness or licensing. Throughout release notes the phrase “If enabled” is used to designate capabilities that may be turned on or off. Such options may be available to a limited audience or hidden until a future update. These options will still be referenced in release notes to make clients aware of complete application capabilities.

Customer Accounts

To provide more flexibility, users may now assign a customer account number within Mosaic. Before, the customer account number could only be assigned via import or by creation at the point of sale. Now Mosaic menus allow user-assigned or system-generated account numbers.

Dashboards

If enabled, Mosaic now presents active dashboard widgets, rather than the application logo, to all users upon login. The current dashboard widgets include:

Daily sales – Visual revenue totals for Store, POS only, and Web only

Web orders – Visual with redirect to web order processing

Stock Shortages – Information-only indicator of web orders that include product with insufficient stock on hand. Future updates will include specific order and product details for review.

Outstanding Purchase Orders – Visual with redirect to Purchase Order maintenance.

Active and Open Terms – List of all open course terms with redirect to term maintenance.

Recent Transactions – Information-only list of the most recently completed cash register transactions and processed web orders.

Note: Please contact PrismRBS support if you would like these dashboard widgets to appear on your Mosaic home screen.

Matrix Items

Changes made to variant groups may now be applied to existing products. If new variants are added to a group, any products with that variant group assigned will present unselected variants via the “Add Variants” button. Like product creation, selecting additional variants will activate the Generate SKU button and present the quantity of new SKUs that will be created.

Purchase Orders

Several changes were made to Add Products modal for purchase order maintenance to better support general merchandise. These changes include:

·         By default, the “Show with term” filter is deselected.  This change ensures that both books and GM products are shown by default. Activating the filter will add term data reducing the search results to items on course requests.

·         Mosaic now remembers the user’s selection for number of lines per page when viewing search results. Previously the value reset to 10 lines per page each time the search modal was opened.

·         The default barcode value is included in search results to easily match a product’s label.

·         For GM products the Variant 1 and 2 values appear where books show Copyright and Edition

·         Stock on Hand (IE. SOH) and On Order quantities are presented with product details.

Rental Setup

The Course Materials > Terms > Rentals tab has been modified to be more consistent with expected functionality. The selection for rental sources as been replaced with a simple On/Off toggle. The rental source will ultimately be controlled by the Rental Management menu as opposed to a system-wide setting.

Tax Service

If enabled, the Mosaic menu has been updated to provide new tax configuration options that align with the forthcoming tax service. Changes that appear in this release include:

·         The menu label POS Tax Rates was changed to Tax Rates to be more consistent with actual functionality

·         A new "Tax Nexus" tab was added to the Tax Rates screen to allow store to identify all states where they may have tax nexus registered.

·         The Tax Nexus tab allows the addition and management of any state. Functionality allows stores to turn nexus on or off, enable unassisted updates, and identify if shipping has sales tax applied.

In addition to new menus, a new tax rate import is now included with Mosaic. The tax import allows users to maintain applied sales tax via an appropriately configured batch import from any preferred tax source. As with all imports, a sample of the expected file format is provided in the imports menu.

Miscellaneous Fixes

Course Requests – When viewing course requests, the Terms filter will only present open terms. Previously, this filter always showed all terms.

Date selection – When selecting start/end dates for reports, Mosaic will honor the local time zone for date selection. So, users in the same time zone as the store may select a matching start date and end date to report on single day. If a user is connecting from time zone that differs from the store, that user may see Mosaic adjust report dates to accommodate the time zone offset.

Imports – When importing data, Mosaic assumes all dates are in the store time zone. This ensures that dates saved to Mosaic match those in the import source file.

Menu – The keyboard navigation for Mosaic’s left menu bar has been confirmed to navigate through all options as expected. Before this update, the menu navigation by keyboard was inconsistent for some menus.

Order Decisions - When viewing order decisions, the Terms filter will only present open terms. Previously, this filter always showed all terms.

Product Transfers – When viewing or printing a product transfer, Mosaic now includes the transfer Status and Date & Time Last Update. This information previously appeared in the transfers list only.

Reports – The Stock Adjustment Report has been added to Reports Templates. This report is now available from the Products menu or within Report Templates.

Shelf Tags – If you select Print Shelf Tag from a Course Request, the print modal selections will default to the course that you were viewing. You may change any of the automatically selected parameters, but for printing the selected course no searching is required.

Suppliers – Mosaic proposed purchase orders now honor the purchase unit as assigned between product and supplier. By default, purchase unit is set to quantity 1, and orders will reflect this quantity upon creation. If the purchase unit is altered within the product profile, the new value will automatically be applied to any purchase orders that are in a proposed state. Changes in this release will not impact orders with status Open or Closed orders.

Want lists – If a user requests to add a want list without matching results, Mosaic now presents an error to notify the user. Before this update, the menu would prompt to save work even though there was no relevant data to save.
