December 12, 2021 Mosaic Release Notes

Release notes statement 

New functionality added to Mosaic, may or may not be immediately available to active clients based on functional readiness or licensing. Throughout release notes the phrase “If enabled” is used to designate capabilities that may be turned on or off. Such options may be available to a limited audience or hidden until a future update. These options will still be referenced in release notes to make clients aware of forthcoming capabilities. 

Gift Cards

Gift Cards menu - To access gift cards, a new menu option appears under People and Accounts. This menu allows stores to create and manage store-issued gift cards/certificates. Delivered functionality includes a search/sort grid to present all gift cards that have been input into the Mosaic database. In addition to viewing gift cards, application users may select a card code to manage associated properties.

Gift card management - To ensure correct card information may be added or edited via the Mosaic menu. Card properties include a card code (alphanumeric), optional PIN number, active flag, expiration date, card balance, and card comment. Along with editing the card properties, card balance is automatically updated based on PrismPOS sales activity.

Gift card import - To transition existing data or pre-populate allowed gift cards, a Gift Cards import is now available from Administrator - Imports - Select Import Type. As with all imports, Mosaic provides a sample file of the gift card import format.

GM Product Profiles

For efficiency, and in preparation for matrix items, Mosaic product profiles are now arranged to highlight shared product family information with secondary management of associated SKU numbers. The new page format also unifies in-store and online product profiles to streamline product management.

Changes to the product profile include:

Multiple images
Clarifying field names
SKU(s) section
Online profile section

Additionally, upon selecting to “Add” a product, Mosaic users are prompted for the product type in order to present to most efficient product creation workflow.

Reports

New reconciliation reports have been created and are available in the reports menu.

Sales by DCC - Summary of sales/refunds by POS device, by DCC for daily auditing. DCC details show transaction counts, gross sales/refunds, discounts, and net revenue.
Cashier Reconciliation – Summary of sales by by clerk, by tender. This report also includes a summary of non-revenue POS transactions for daily auditing.

Misc Enhancements & Fixes

Suppliers - Misaligned cells under the Discount tab were corrected.

UI - Input field borders have been darkened for better contrast within Mosaic menus.

Course requests status - Course requests status selection have been moved to data table to enable user-configurable status types in a future update.

Edit Book - The upon selecting to edit book properties, Mosaic application focus is on the new/used book screen as expected.
