Release notes statement

New functionality added to Mosaic, is controlled by feature flags to ensure readiness prior to use in production environments. Throughout release notes the phrase “If enabled” is used to designate capabilities that may be turned on or off. Such options may be released for a limited audience or dependent upon additional updates. These options will still be referenced in release notes to make clients aware all new application capabilities.

Data Exchange

If enabled, the Data Exchange menu has been updated as follows:

Job Management - Exchange jobs may be deleted to maintain data and menu integrity.

Job Execution - The “Run Now” action, will now supports jobs with action = import and type = Customer. The utility does not require pre-validation of file contents, so very large sets of data maybe imported.

Logging - Execution of a data exchange job will create an export log that may be viewed and exported for review.

Imports/Exports

Course Requests - The import process has been updated to ensure consistency between validation and the import function. In the prior release, the import process was failing even though validation was successful for all line items.

Courses - This import was updated to utilize the import framework for allowing processing with exceptions. Courses with Campuses and Departments now differentiates warnings from failures, disregards non-essential data issues, and logs import data that was not fully processed.

Customer AR Accounts - To allow linking customer profiles to department charges, this import now supports AR Account Codes where Fund Type is set to “Department Charge”

Trade Book Export (PrismCore) - An export was created to extract active trade books from PrismCore in a format that may be immediately imported by Mosaic. This utility excludes books with status set to “Discontinued” to avoid creating an inordinate number of unused products.

Trade Book Import (Mosaic) - This new import will create a trade book profile without requiring new/used course book data. For use with the PrismCore trade book export or any correctly formatted import from another source, this data specification will create ISBNs and SKUs that are associate with the Trade profile as shown in Mosaic.

Tax Rate Management

Tax Rates - The Administrator > Tax Rates menu will now display all configured tax localities and their applied rates. This menu supports the audit of applied rates per transaction.

Store Setup - The Postal Code set in the Shipping address under Store Setup > Contact Information is assumed to be the locality that is used for all PrismPOS cash registers configured for the store location.

Web Orders - Web Orders may be processed regardless without access to the tax service. Users may now process an order with shown values, regardless of the tax service availability. This change allows users to process verified and unchanged orders even if the tax service is not available to validate rates upon processing.

Reports

Rental Status - The reported replacement fee now honors system price rounding parameters to ensure that replacement prices are consistent with those shown in-store.

Taxes by Jurisdiction - This report may now be run over a date range that includes both pre- and post-tax service transactions.

Miscellaneous Fixes

Catalog Numbers - The catalog number for a product’s default supplier now shows as "Catalog #" throughout Mosaic. Before this update the catalog number for GM items was often missing in grids.

Course Requests - The Course Request status "Closed" is now managed as expected. By design “Closed” refers to course requests linked to a closed term. “Complete” are course requests that have been finalized as part of any open term.

Order Decisions - Order Decisions are only updated if a Course Request is changed and saved. In the previous Mosaic release, Order Decision numbers sometimes reverted values any time a course request is saved, even if it was not altered.

Order Decisions - Mosaic now ensures data is refreshed prior to allowing a user to move to the previous/next Order Decisions during ‘Work Orders’. Before, navigating too quickly between orders may cause an OOOPS error.

Product Maintenance - Product search criteria now include ‘Serial Number’. This search simplifies serial number auditing for sold/unsold products.

Product Maintenance - With this release the add new book workflow requires a user to save a product before the 'Check for Digital” button is enabled. This prevents possible errors when matching digital content.

Purchase Orders - “Ship by” values on Mosaic purchase orders may now be cleared by selecting a blank option from drop downs.

Rentals - Stores may now disable rentals for a term prior to completing any transactions that includes a rental book. Once a rental transaction is completed, rentals must stay enabled.

Shelf Tags - The shelf tag template was altered to remove the “Rent” label if there are no rental prices for a title.

Suppliers - To capture supplier-specific details such as additional contact information, a "Notes" field has been added to supplier details.

Transaction Search - Split shipments from web order processing are captured as separate transactions in Transaction Search. Before, Transaction Search showed all web orders details regardless of split processing.

Want Lists - Application generated warnings now clear as expected. In prior releases, some warnings generated by Want list processing persisted unless manually closed.

Web Order Processing -Failed web order processing of a serialized item now disregards product updates. Previously, a product serial number was updated incorrectly.
