Release notes statement
New functionality added to Mosaic, may or may not be immediately available to active clients based on functional readiness or licensing. Throughout release notes, the phrase “If enabled” is used to designate capabilities that may be turned on or off. Such options may be available to a limited audience or hidden until a future update. These options will still be referenced to in release notes to make clients aware of forthcoming capabilities.
Digital Content/eBooks
Popular US eBooks partners, RedShelf and VitalSource, may now be enabled for use in Mosaic. If enabled, Mosaic will share adopted titles with a preferred partner to discover available digital titles. Similar to print materials, digital content may be added to course requests, and sold via Prism points-of-sale.
Product Maintenance (Books)
Book properties have been rearranged to support Digital content. A summary of book formats appears atop the screen, and a new tab appears to show Digital properties associated with the print ISBN.
Product Variants
To prepare for matrix items, Mosaic now provides variant and variant group maintenance via the Products menu. Variants and variant groups will enable the creation of product families with streamlined product maintenance and simplified online profile management.
PrismWeb Integration
Databases that support online selling may now be maintained within Mosaic menus. The Web Admin menu has the following changes to provide manage PrismWeb content from the back office.
Shipping Codes – Enables users to define shipping options to be presented by PrismWeb.
Tenders – Option to select which point-of-sale tenders will be allowed for online purchases.
Catalog Groups – Users may define broad product groups, such as Textbooks or Merchandise
Catalogs – Mechanism to narrow web categories to streamline browsing such as, gifts, supplies, technology, etc.
Misc Enhancements & Fixes
Product cost – If a product’s cost is changed to $0.00, the application now prompts a user for confirmation.
Course management – To maintain data integrity, the Campus value may no longer be edited after a Department or Course entry has been saved.
Suppliers – Supplier profiles now differentiate the Order address and Return address. These values will be applied to appropriate documents generated for suppliers.
Suppliers – The Return Comment field has been expanded to display more information. Previously users had to scroll across a very narrow filed to see long comments.
Returns – The ‘Export PDF’ button on each return now uses the supplier’s Return address information.
