Release Notes Statement

New functionality added to Mosaic is controlled by feature flags to ensure readiness prior to use in production environments. Throughout release notes the phrase “If enabled” is used to designate capabilities that may be turned on or off. Such options may be released for a limited audience or dependent upon additional updates. These options will still be referenced in release notes to make clients aware of all new application capabilities. 

Accounting

Preparation for forthcoming accounting capabilities have begun. Although these changes will mostly go unnoticed to start, they are essential to deliver the Accounting roadmap. Changes in the July release include:

  • Accounting Cost - A new field, ‘Accounting Cost’, is shown in Mosaic’s selling price calculator. The Accounting Cost is a system-generated value based on each SKU’s FIFO weighted average as stock on hand changes from Mosaic actions.

    Note: Until future accounting functionality is complete, the Accounting Cost will appear as $0.00.

  • General Ledger Data table - This setup is not yet exposed in Mosaic. A table has been created to support future General Ledger functionality. This new table will connect to existing Mosaic data to ensure stores are able to capture and report revenue as required for future accounting general ledger requirements.

  • Stock Ledger Data table - This setup is not yet exposed in Mosaic. A table has been created to support future Stock Ledger functionality. This new table will connect to existing Mosaic data to ensure stores are able to capture and report stock on hand valuation as required for future stock ledger requirements.

Reports

POS Device Reconciliation - Revenue collected via the Gift Card Issue functionality in PrismPOS is now reported independently as “Gift Card Issue” on reconciliation reports. Before the revenue was presented as Pre-Tax Sales / Refunds requiring stores to manually adjust reporting of gift card sales.

Transaction Search Export Details (PDF) - The Transaction Details Report PDF has been reformatted to better align with the transaction details view. Some white space, separators, and headers were reduced to consolidate like information and clean up presentation. Also a summary of transaction details, discounts, and tax is provided to reconcile details with the transaction header.

Miscellaneous Enhancements & Bug fixes

Add Books - When a user Adds a new book from Product Maintenance or an Incoming Course Request, that book is now Active by default. Before, the new record defaulted to Inactive requiring extra clicks to see the new information.

Delete Item (part 1) - Deleted items are no longer presented in PrismPOS search results. Prior to this update, deleted items were shown in search results even though they could not be sold.

Delete Item (part 2) - Barcodes associated with deleted items may now be reused. Prior to this update, barcodes linked to deleted items were blocked from reassignment.

Web Order Processing - All changes to web order header information are now saved immediately. Before, some sequences of edits to customer/payment information created a mismatch that allowed selection of invalid payment accounts.
