Book Routing Configuration - Partnership 2

Book Routing Configuration is designed to help buyers with the placement of the different types of books when they are scanned at the buyback counter.
Book Routing Configuration appears when buying books in the Buy Books module (Ctrl+J 215).
The buyers will see this information and place books in the proper place to help with sorting. For example, you may want NBC Partnership titles that are adopted in the next term to be placed on a table and NBC Partnership titles that aren’t adopted to be put in a bucket cart.
In addition to the Routing Location, an optional Summary dialog can appear when the buyback transaction is ended.
Book Routing Configuration Setup
Book Routing Configuration is under the hammer in Buyback Session Setup <Ctrl+J 213>.
Display Transaction Summary
Check this parameter if you want a dialog to appear at the end of the buyback transaction listing all books on the transaction with routing instructions based on each book’s type.
Group Wholesale Purchases
Check this parameter if you want the books bought for wholesale grouped together in the dialog
Group Store Purchases
Check this parameter if you want the books purchased for the store grouped together in the dialog.
Term Configuration for Adoptions
Use this parameter to tell the system which term(s) should be looked at when considering whether or not a book is adopted, i.e., has a course request entered for one or more specified terms. One term configuration may be selected per buyback session, however, the configuration can be different from session to session.

Use all open terms | Check this setting if you want PrismCore to consider adoption for all open terms. If this is checked and the rental being returned is adopted for any open term, the routing type will recognize it as Adopted. For example, if you are buying books in May and both Spring and Summer are open, even though you are buying for Summer, a book adopted in Spring will be identified as having an Adopted routing type. |
Use terms used to create the buyback lists for this session | Check this setting if you want PrismCore to consider adoption only in the term(s) that are used to create the store’s buyback list(s) for the buyback session. For example, if you are buying books in May and created your buyback list(s) using Summer and Fall, books adopted in those terms will be identified by the routing type as Adopted. |
Selected Terms | Check this setting if you want to select the term(s) to be considered. When this parameter is checked, you must then select one or more terms in the Term Name list. If a book is adopted in the selected term(s), it will be identified by the routing Type as being Adopted. |
Routing Location and Routing Type
In the Routing Location, enter the information (i.e., the instructions for the buyer) that you want to appear when each type of book is included in the transaction. If routing information is not entered for a routing type, the Routing Location column will be blank when that type of book is placed on the transaction.
The definitions of the Routing Types are listed below.

Sale: Store Purchaser | A regular buyback book for the store |

Store rental: Book Adopted | A Store Managed rental that’s adopted in the term(s) specified in the Term Configuration for Adoptions frame. |
Store rental: Book Not Adopted | A Store Managed rental that’s not adopted in the term(s) specified in the Term Configuration for Adoptions frame. |
NMRP Rental: Book Adopted | An NMRP title that’s adopted in the term(s) specified in the Term Configuration for Adoptions frame. Not used by NBC Partnership 2. |
NMRP Rental: Book Not Adopted | An NMRP title that’s not adopted in the term(s) specified in the Term Configuration for Adoptions frame. Not used by NBC Partnership 2. |
Book Routing Configuration
- Access Buyback Session Setup <Ctrl+J 213>.
- Search for and display the parameters for the appropriate buyback session.
- Click the hammer.
- Select Book Routing Configuration.
- If you want to see a transaction summary dialogue when a buyback transaction is ended, check ‘Display Transaction Summary.’
- If “Display Transaction Summary’ is checked and you want to group books by store and wholesale purchases, check the appropriate boxes. These boxes are inactive if you do not display the transaction summary.
- Select the term configuration.
- If ‘Selected Terms’ is checked, selected the terms in the Term Name list. If ‘Selected Terms’ is not checked, terms are not selected in the Term Name list.
- Click in the routing location cell you want to edit.
- Type the routing location information for the corresponding routing type.
- Click out of the cell when done typing.
- Repeat steps 8-10 for each routing type.
- Use the Up and Down arrows to change the display order of the routing types if desired.
- When finished, click OK.
