Concepts of Textbook Rental Partnership 1

This document contains information for Partially Managed Rentals also known as NBC Textbook Rental Partnership Version 1.   If your store is using the NBC Textbook Rental Partnership Version 2 or Nebraska Managed Rental Program (NRMP) please refer to the documentation for those programs.

For the purposes of this document, NBC Textbook Rental Partnership Version 1 will be referred to as “NBC Partnership 1”.

Some of the key features of NBC Partnership 1 include:

• The store controls which titles will be rentable through the NBC Partnership 1 program.
• The store manages rental pricing.
• Rentals for NBC Partnership 1 stay in your stock on hand and the rental price has a separate line in Sales Reports and Stock Ledger.
• The half of the rental rebate amount will be paid after each month’s rentals are reported and will be reflected on a system generated NCDTR Credit Memo.
• The second half of the rental rebate amount will be paid for all books rented during that period at the end of the rental period.
• The store is responsible for rental reminder emails and charging for rentals not returned.
• As rentals are returned by the students the quantities will update on a Rental Return which was created by PrismCore when the books were first rented. The store will use this Rental Return to note which items will be kept for the store and which will be shipped to NBC.
• The store will receive an invoice for any rentals which were rented through the NBC Partnership 1 program and not sent to Nebraska
