Post the NBC Rental Credit Request Partnership 1

Posting the rental credit request does the following:

  • Changes the status of the proposed rental credit request to Open.
  • Creates credit memo for 2nd half of total rebate.
  • Sends an electronic copy of the credit request to Nebraska Book Company
  • Triggers the processing of the final rebate check
  • Decreases SOH by the Qty (rented)
  • During the overnight process, creates a rental rebate purchase order with a number in the format NBCPO-account number-session number with PO quantities equal to quantities not shipped (Total Rented minus Shipped Qty).
  • Increases SOH by the quantities not shipped by automatically receiving the rental PO

When the shipment is received at Nebraska Book, the books are counted.  You will be invoiced for any NBC Rental Partnership books not in the shipment.  In addition, the final rebate check will be processed and sent.

Steps to Post the Rental Credit Request

  1. Double check to make sure the Ship Qty on the credit request match what is packed for shipping.
  2. Click the hammer.
  3. Select the option to post.
  4. Answer Yes to the prompt to approve.
  5. Print a copy of the request to include with the shipment.

Posting with Outstanding Rentals

If you post the rental credit request while there are still outstanding rentals, you will receive a message stating “Outstanding Rentals still exist for this period.  Do you want to continue and add them to the return?”

This alerts you that you are preparing the shipment to NBC before all rentals have been returned, before processing the rentals not returned billing or before closing open rentals.

If this message appears, ask yourself if you are posting the shipment too soon.  If you want to wait for more returns by students or need to charge for rentals not returned, click “No.”

If you click “Yes”, any outstanding rentals will be added to the Qty column of the rental return (the total rented) but not to the Ship Qty.  Do this when you want to ship only what’s available and not wait for the remainder of the rentals.  If any outstanding rentals are returned by students after the return is posted, you will not be able to ship them to NBC.

Because of all the actions are initiated by the posting of the credit request, it cannot be reversed. Be sure you have finished editing the return and all information is correct before posting.
