At the Register No AR

There are three possible scenarios that you will be dealing with at the register:

  • The marketplace vendor has deposited the whole amount owed in your bank account.
  • The marketplace vendor has deducted a fee from the amount owed to your store from the amount deposited directly into your bank account.
  • The marketplace vendor has sent you a chec

 The marketplace vendor has deposited the whole amount owed in your bank account.

This is the case with the payment from half.com as shown.

  1. Press the Pay In/Pay Out key
  2. Select Pay In
  3. Select Marketplace Payments from the list
  4. Enter the amount of the deposit, 324056 in this case
  5. Select your automatic deposit tender (This tender is reserved for all direct deposit)
  6. Enter the amount of the deposit from Step in the Enter Tender Amount field.
  7. Press Enter


The marketplace vendor (i.e., amazon.com) has deducted a fee from the amount owed to your store from the amount deposited directly into your bank account.

  • This involves two transactions: a pay in and a pay out.
  • The pay in will be the sum of the amount of the direct deposit plus the fee: the total owed the bookstore.
    • Amazcom has deducted a fee from the amount owed the bookstore.
    • The fee must be added to the payment and that amount entered as a pay i Thus, in this case, $39.99 + 5,521.58 = $5,561.57.
  • The pay out will be done for the fee. The automatic deposit tender will be used in both transacti

The Pay In (WinPOS)

  1. Press the Pay In/Pay Out key
  2. Select Pay In
  3. Select Marketplace Payments from the list
  4. Enter the sum of the amount of the deposit plus the fee, or 556157 in our example
  5. Click OK
  6. Select your automatic deposit tender (This tender is reserved for all direct deposit)
  7. Enter the same amount as in Step d. above in the Enter Tender Amount field

The Pay Out (WinPOS)

  1. Press the Pay In/Pay Out key
  2. Select Pay Out
  3. Select the Pay Out for Marketplace Fees
  4. Enter 3999 (for the $39.99 fee)
  5. Select your automatic deposit tender (This tender is reserved for all direct deposit)
  6. Enter 3999

The marketplace vendor has sent you a check.

When the marketplace vendor sends you a check rather than depositing the payment in your bank account, the steps are the same as in the first procedure except the selection of the tender.

WinPOS

  1. Press the Pay In/Pay Out key
  2. Select Pay In
  3. Select Marketplace Payments from the list
  4. Enter the amount of the deposit
  5. Click OK
  6. Select the check tender
  7. Enter the amount of the deposit from Step in the Enter Tender Amount field
  8. Press Enter
  9. Enter a Customer ID if prompted
