Obtaining  Digital ISBN’s and Pricing for Jumpbooks

In order to identify Jumpbook items as such, you will first need to add the Jumpbook items to Item Maintenance. The difference between a regular textbook and a Jumpbook lies in a different ISBN number, assigned only to the Jumpbook by the publisher.

 In order to obtain the digital ISBN number for your Jumpbooks, you will first need to logon to the Jumpbook website, using the user name and password provided to you by the Jumpbook staff when you signed up for an account.

 To locate the digital ISBN for a Jumpbook:

  1. Open your web browser, and access the Jumpbook login page at: https://www.jumpbooks.com/manage/login.aspx

     

  2. Type in your username and password, and click login.

  3. The following webpage will display:

     

  4.  Using the buttons at the top of the page, place your mouse over the “Search” button. A mouse menu will display. Click the “Available Titles” option.

     

  5. A Search page will display.

     

 You can search the Jumpbook site for titles available in the following ways:

 Publisher: To search for all titles listed for a particular publisher, use the pull down menu next to the “Publisher” field, and select the publisher whose books you wish to see. Then click the “Search” button.

 Provider: To search for titles in a specific format, use the pull down menu next to the “Provider” field, and select the provider whose books you would like to see. Then click the “Search” button.

 ISBN:  To search for a particular Jumpbook title for which you have the “in print” ISBN, type the ISBN from the non-digital book into the ISBN field, and click the “search” button.

 Title:  To search for a particular Jumpbook title for which you do not have the “in print” ISBN, type in the Title of the book you wish to locate, and click the “search” button.

 Author: To search the site for a particular author, type in the last name of the author whose books you wish to locate, and click the “search” button.

 Example:  Searching by Title

  1. Once you have typed in your search parameter and have clicked the “Search” button, a listing of available titles will display.

You can sort the listing by clicking the header of the field you wish to sort by, such as “title” or “author”.

 Each listing includes the following information:

 Digital ISBN:  This field shows the ISBN of the title in digital format. This is the ISBN you will use to add the item to your Item maintenance file.

 Printed ISBN:  This field shows the ISBN of the title in printed format. Title:  This field shows the title of the book.

 Author: This field shows the author of the book.

 Edition:  This field shows the edition of the book.

 Bookstore Price: This field shows the cost of the title to your Bookstore when a customer purchases and downloads their Jumpbook.

 Retail Price: This field, based on the margin parameters you used when setting up your Jumpbook account, shows the retail price you should charge for the title.

 Publisher: This field shows the publisher of the title.

 Provider: This field shows the format for which download of the book is offered.

 Status:   This field indicates whether or not the title is available, denoted by an “A”.

  1. To see more information on a particular title, click the Digital ISBN field of the item’s line in the grid. A detailed listing of the title will display.

  2. Once you have located the Jumpbook title you wish to add to your system, be sure to note the digital ISBN number, as this in the ISBN required in Item Maintenance.
