Apple DEP

Apple DEP

The Device Enrollment Program (DEP) is part of the Apple Deployment Programs (ADP), which help businesses and educational institutions easily deploy and configure iOS and OS X devices. DEP provides a fast, streamlined way to deploy institutionally owned iPad and iPhone devices and Mac computers that are purchased directly from Apple or participating Apple Authorized Resellers or carriers.

DEP and PrismCore

Initial setup for communication with DEP is done through PrismRBS Development. Following this setup, the user must enter the Apple items into serial number maintenance, if they are not already there, and mark them as eligible for Apple DEP. When items are then sold, the user will put the customer Apple DEP number into the customer file. Then, nightly, PrismRBS sends Hyperspace an export of valid Apple Serial Numbers and customers for DEP enrollment.  Hyperspace then communicates that information to Apple.

Customer File

On the customer record, there is a field called “APPLE  DEP ID”. This will need to have the information input into it.

Serial Number

On the serial number record, there is a check mark for “Apple DEP Eligible”.  That needs to be checked for those items that are DEP eligible.

Then, any transaction done for a customer with an Apple DEP ID for an item marked as

DEP eligible will export to that csv file each night at 12:00.
