Common GM Products can be made into Serialized Products. To create one, you would create a Common GM Product following all the same information but just add a couple steps.

You can add serial numbers to a Common GM Product by making it serialized. Only Common GM Products can be serialized.

To make a common GM product Serialized, on the General Data tab, select the dial for Serialized Product to Enable it. Then select Manage or go to the new Serialization tab.

Serialization Tab

  1. Select +Add New Serial

  2. Assign Serial Numbers screen displays. Scan or type in the serial numbers, selecting +Add after each one until all are entered.

  1. Once all the serial numbers have been entered from the product, select Add (x) Serial. This will close the window and open to the serialization tab. The serial numbers will display on the serialization tab.

If you need to remove a serial number, use the trash can icon to delete.

As you sell and order more of the product, you will continue to add serial numbers with every shipment by using the Add Serial Number button.

When you sell Serialized items at the POS, it will require a Customer Account and the serial number for the item being purchased. This is so it can track this information on the serialization tab. (As seen below)

Transaction and customer information will display when an item is sold. Copy the Transaction number and use the Customer Account link (shown in orange) to go directly to the customer account page (People & Accounts > Customers > Customer Profile).  In the Customer Profile, go to the Transaction History tab and paste the transaction number in the search bar and select View for more information. This can also be done in Reports > Transaction Search.
