Release notes statement
New functionality added to Mosaic, may or may not be immediately available to active clients based on functional readiness and feature licensing. Throughout release notes, the phrase “If enabled” is used to designate capabilities that may be turned on or off. Such options may be available to a limited audience or hidden until a future update. These options will still be referenced to in release notes to make clients aware of future options.
PrismWeb Integration
Course materials search – If enabled, PrismWeb now supports course materials searching (aka Find Textbooks) with data provided by Mosaic’s Course Materials database.
Accounts Receivable
Menu – To support accounts receivable, some adjustments have been made to Mosaic’s base menu. The menu selection previously labeled ‘Customers’ has been changed to ‘People & Accounts’. The People & Accounts option has submenus for AR Account Management (new) and Customers.
AR Account Management – Application user may now add, search, and edit funding accounts and agencies. Accounts may be created as revolving or expiring as increasing (credit) balance with limit or decreasing (debit) balance. Account setup also includes default start date, end date, and funding amounts that may be assigned and adjusted for linked customers. Finally, basic contact information is captured for each account for store convenience.
AR link Customer – After creation, accounts may be linked or unlinked from customers in the Mosaic database for use at PrismPOS registers. This option is available from the ‘Customers’ tab in account properties.

GM Product Properties
Product image – Within the General Data tab, GM products now allow support a linked item image. The image is used for easy identification in product properties and as a primary image for products that are sold online.
Product Notes – Within the General Data tab, product notes have been repositioned within the primary item data. This field move was made to highlight descriptive information that will be associated with every product.
Barcode management – Within the General Data tab > Product Details panel, Barcodes have been replaced by a Default Barcode. The default barcode is the value that will be used on a printed label when a product has more than one barcode linked to it. The edit icon next to the default barcode will open a table of all linked barcodes to add or remove new values and designate the default value.
Product cost – Within the General Data tab > Price Data, the application now allows a Cost of $0.00. This change streamlines new product entry where full item data is not easily accessible. Cost may be updated any time or will appear after an item is received.
Scheduled new selling price – Within the General Data tab > Price Data, a user may enter and schedule a new selling price. When the New Selling Price Start Date is reached, the New Selling Price will become the permanent product Selling Price.
Scheduled temporary price– Within the General Data tab > Sales Event, one may schedule a temporary percent or dollar off discount. When the Event Start Date is reached, the Event Price will become the product’s selling price until the Event End Date is reached. After the end date, the selling price will return the pre-event, database value
General merchandise Online Profile – Within the Online Profile tab, you may link up to four images to associate with the product when presented on your website. This images will be shown in addition to the default product image at the top of the page.
Web catalog association – Within the Online Profile tab, if web catalogs have been saved in the Mosaic database, one may select from available Web Catalogs in which to share the product profile on PrismWeb.
Book Maintenance
Barcode management – In the Edit Book properties screen, the Barcodes tab has been removed and barcode data is presented in the Book Type Details tab. Similar to GM product changes, only the default barcode is shown. This value is the number that will be used on a printed label when a product has more than one barcode linked to it. The edit icon next to the default barcode will open a table of all linked barcodes to add or remove new values and designate the default value.
Adopt From Buyer’s Guide – When a user selects Adopt from the buyer’s guide search, the application now presents additional information to confirm the selection including ISBN, Author, Title, Edition, Binding, Price, and Imprint.
Course Term
Term description – Within the Edit Term screen, ‘Description’ is now a required field. The Description is used to provide a user friendly term name within PrismWeb’s online course lookup.
Online sharing – From the Edit Term screen, one may select ‘Online Sharing’ to enable the selected term’s data for PrismWeb’s course lookup. The Online Sharing Start/End dates are used to ensure that data is only presented online during your preferred date range.
Order Decisions
Search options – Numerous updates were made to the order decisions grid to simplify searching and filtering to the correct course materials. For search, Title and Description are combined. The New SKU, catalog #, and section ID searched were removed, and Instructor was added.
Filters – Like search, filters were adjusted to more closely match user preferences. New filtering more closely resembles course requests, which were identified as a better model than previous versions.
Grid contents – Order decision grid contents now include information to enable the quick identification of course materials to work. The combined Term/Dept/Course/Sec enables better sorting for a group of products. Instructor has been added to the list for view, search and sort, and ISBN is presented as an independent value. Status was also added as a quick sort and filter value.
Returns
Select all items from invoice – When adding items to a return where there are multiple invoices, the selection of an invoice will now automatically select all associated items.
POS Tax Rates
Scheduled updates – With POS Tax Rates properties, any edits to tax rates now appear as a scheduled change. The default scheduling time is as soon as possible, and users may see each scheduled update in the sequence that they will be applied. This not only supports planned tax rate changes, but also allows stores to plan in advance for tax free events with the assurance that rates will be returned to normal after the event.
Misc Enhancements
Course requests adopt from buyer’s guide – Similar to adding a Product from the buyer’s guide, searching a guide for course adoptions provides additional information to verify the correct book selection and supplier assignment.
Total Inventory Value – To be more consistent with store expectations, this report is now sorted by DCC, by author, by title. Or if reporting GM, it is sorted by DCC by item description.
Purchase Order format – Purchase order line items are now sorted by author by title. Or if ordering GM, items are sorted by description.
Purchase Order csv – The purchase order export option now allows a csv export of purchase order line items. The csv export is a more efficient mechanism to share order data with vendors who wish to import data as opposed to hand entry.
