Term Naming Systems
The three parts of the eight character terms are:
Year – all four digits
Sequential letter – A thru Z.
Campus Abbreviation – 3 characters. i.e. MSU or HSC.
In determining how to name your textbook terms, the three methods you can choose are:
Calendar year
Academic year
Fiscal year
It is important to define your term sequence letters for the year because terms for each campus must be opened and closed in sequential/alphabetical order.
Add Term
Select + Add from Terms screen.
Select from drop down.
Click into field, use calendar to select Class Start Date.
Enter Year and Sequence.
Select Save.

Class Start Date | What is the first date of term. |
Year | 4 digit year for term. |
Sequence | Single alpha character for term. |
Add Term Details
Change or enter dates as necessary.
Enter Description of term.
Select Buyback to Subtract (None, Estimated, or Actual).
Check or uncheck Subtract Order Short.
Drag term(s) to left for Post Sales.
Check boxes for Academic Departments to be included in this term. Optionally check top box to select all.
Change Allocation Percentages if desired.
Select Save.

Reservation End | Last date for reservations. |
Buyback to Subtract | None, Estimated, or Actual. |
Subtract Order Short | Check to subtract, uncheck to not. |
Post Sales | Term(s) on left are active for sales posting. |
Academic Departments | Select Departments for this term. |
Allocation Percentages | Change if desired. |
Note: If an Academic Department is missing make sure it’s attached to the Campus being used.
