Release notes statement
New functionality added to Mosaic, may or may not be immediately available to active clients based on functional readiness and feature licensing. Throughout release notes, the phrase “If enabled” is used to designate capabilities that may be turned on or off. Such options may be available to a limited audience or hidden until a future update. These options will still be refered to in release notes to make clients aware of future options.
Enhancements
Searching by Bookkey
Searching by Bookkey, using the first 4 letters of the author and first 3 letters of title, displays expected search results.
Search results ignore most special characters. Enabling successful search results without needing to know exactly which special characters may reside in the guide information.
Search result display additional data including: Imprint, Price, and Binding information for matching guide titles.
General Merchandise Management
Product Maintenance for General Merchandise, is changed and now has three tabs for the different parts of each record. The new GM tabs are:
General – Properties required for all GM items. The tab is re-arranged to clearly differentiate required and optional data and to put the most relevant product information to the top of the screen.
Suppliers – This tab shows all suppliers (IE vendors) from which a product might be ordered and the associated catalog information. Mosaic supports multiple suppliers per product.
Online Profile – This tab enables multiple images and enhanced item descriptions for sharing with a web host. For the benefit of your online shoppers the online profile allows additional description information and formatting beyond what appears in the general tab.
PrismWeb Integration
E-Commerce Setup – If enabled, E-Commerce Setup displays under Admin. This screen is used to establish Website Connections for selling course materials and/or general merchandise. To start, the only approved website host is PrsimRBS’ PrismWeb. Additional hosts will be supported in future updates.
Email Configuration – If enabled, Email Configuration displays under Web Orders. This screen displays editors enabling stores to customize messages, for orders from PrismWeb/Mosaic, including Processing Order, Backorder Notification, Ship/Pickup Notification, and Cancel Notification.
Reporting
Inventory Report by Fixture – A new export type Physical Inventory – Export – Inventory by fixture has been added. This export helps audit completed physical counts with a comma delimited list of completed counts based on selected filters
Invoice Print – When entering/editng an invoice in Invoices, you may Export Invoice. A PDF is created and downloaded for printing. It includes Supplier, Invoice, and Item information for the selected Invoice.
Course list (confirm release inclusion after 6/7) – Course lists have been modified for better presentation. Course information is differentiated from books by shading, and the price disclosure presented as a single statement per page. Used book prices were also corrected (see Corrections below).
User Experience Changes
Application rebrand – As part of Mosaic rebranding, the application features colors from the Mosaic logo. While functionally the same, the colors associated with menus and buttons are visibly different with this update.
Course Request filter – When adding products to course requests, you may now filter by Term. This addition allows quick access to previously used course materials.
Customer Profiles – Each tab shows customer identification data. If you switch your view away from the Customer Profile tab, validating information remains atop the screen with new data shown below.
Phone Numbers – Throughout the application, phone numbers now accept numeric input only. To ensure consistency in data, numbers will appear as typed for validation and non-numeric characters will be ignored upon entry.
Corrections
Add New Record – Mosaic now always prompts the user to confirm that they wish to navigate away from a new record creation screen with or without data. This ensures consistency application wide.
Buyback Packing List – The “All” purchasers checkbox now performs as expected. Before, performance around selecting all purchasers was inconsistent.
Course List – Used book prices are now corrected on the printed Course List. Before the new and used book prices showed the same value despite correct data in Mosaic.
DCC Save – A likely unnoticed issue that prevented DCC updates on live tenants due to missing database information was corrected to ensure future updates work smoothly.
Purchase Order Addresses – Address updates applied to a purchase order are now saved. Previously the application was using the supplier address for printing regardless of changes applied to the order.
Likewise, Store Billing Address may be different from the delivery address. Before, the billing address reverted to “Same as Delivery” even if a user made changes to the purchase order.
Used Book Prices from Buyguide – (Hot fix applied pre-release) Used book prices are now calculated correctly when titles are added or adopted from the wholesale buyguide. Prior to this release, the used price was calculated incorrectly based on user-defined pricing parameters.
Work Course Requests – A work flow issue caused by adding creating a new request while working course requests was corrected. New behavior will return the user to a logical state after exiting request creation.
