Updating PrismCore Workstations after Version Changes

Once you completed the update on the server(s), all workstations that run the PrismCore and/or PrismCore register application will need to have the application updated.  You will receive the following prompt the next time you login into a PrismCore workstation or PrismCore register.

 To update the workstation, click ‘Yes’.

 

If the cab file can be pulled from the server, then the workstation will be updated and you will be prompted to log in when the update is complete.

If the workstation is unable to pull the file from the server you will receive an error, you may then need to download the cab file separately and manually place it into the correct folder on the workstation.

  1.  Go to: https://nebook.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CS/pages/611581984

  2. Choose the link for the PrismCore version the server was updated to.

  3. After clicking on the correct link, under Downloads > ICS Workstation, you will see PrismCore #### Cab.

  4. Click on the file and you will be prompted to Open or Save the file.

  5. Choose to save the file to the C:/Program Files/PrismCore directory.

  6. Once you have saved the file to that directory, login to PrismCore again and click ‘Yes’ to updating.  This update process should recognize that the update file is already in the correct directory complete the update for you.

NOTE:  If updating a register using WinPOS, the process is the same except for the update .cab file. It can be found under POS Register instead of ICS Workstation.  The update file is WPPOSReg####.cab, and it will be saved and extracted into the C:/Program Files/WPPOSReg directory.
