Concepts of NBC Textbook Rental Partnership 2

This document contains information for Partially Managed Rentals also known as NBC Textbook Rental Partnership Version 2.   If your store has previously rented using the NBC Textbook Rental Partnership Version 1 or Nebraska Managed Rental Program (NRMP) and would like to switch to Rental Partnership Version 2, please contact ICS Support to coordinate the timing of the switch as certain processes must be completed before you can change from one rental program to another.  For the purposes of this document, NBC Textbook Rental Partnership Version 2 will be referred to as “NBC Partnership 2”.

Some of the key features of NBC Partnership 2 include:

• The store controls which titles will be rentable through the NBC Partnership 2 program.
• The store manages rental pricing.
• Rentals are considered “sales” at the time of the rental and will be reflected as such by adjusting Stock On Hand when Rentals are posted and on the Stock Ledger.
• Rental rebates are reported on each transaction as an AR account sale which the rebate check will be used to pay into this account.
• The full rental rebate amount will be paid after each month’s rentals are reported.
• The store is responsible for rental remind emails and charging for rentals not returned.
• Rentals are reconciled using a hammer option at the end of a period to designate what will be sent to Nebraska and what will be kept.
• Store will receive an invoice for any rentals which were rented through the NBC Partnership 2 program and not sent to Nebraska
