Basic Transactions
Sale Transaction Cash Tender
- On the Home Screen, scan the item barcode.
- If item has, no barcode or it will not scan, select Items, search for the item, and select it from the list.
- If selling an item from the Quick Menu, select the item.
- Change quantity, if necessary in Transaction Details using the Plus or Minus sign.
- Finish scanning items then select Pay.
- Payment Method displays in Details Frame.
- Select CASH.
- Cash: Tender Amount displays.
- You have two choices.
- Select one of several buttons; per the sample below $130.00 or $129.52 (the exact amount of the transaction). These reflect possible cash combinations, for the particular transaction, provided by the customer.
OR - In the Cash field, enter the total cash from the customer.
- Select one of several buttons; per the sample below $130.00 or $129.52 (the exact amount of the transaction). These reflect possible cash combinations, for the particular transaction, provided by the customer.
- Selecting a preset amount button completes the transaction and the receipt prints.
- Entering an amount in the cash field requires selecting the Complete button in the lower right corner.
- Transaction completes and receipt prints.
- Transaction Complete dialog box displays indicating Total Due, Amount Tendered, and Change Due.
- Select Reprint Receipt, Print Gift Receipt, or enter an email address in the Email Receipt field and select Email Receipt.
Note: You may select all three options in a single transaction. - Select Next Transaction.
Note: The Transaction Complete dialog box will dissapear on its own after a certain period of time.
Refund Transaction Cash Tender
- On the Home Screen, scan the barcode from the receipt, or use Receipts to search for the receipt.
- If the customer does not have the receipt and you are allowing the refund, scan the item or look it up using Items.
- If the item is a Quick Menu item, select it from the Quick Menu.
- Select item(s) for refund if using original receipt:
- Selecting Refund All in the lower portion of Transaction Detail.
OR - Selecting the check box(es) to the left of the item(s)to be refunded and selecting Refund Selected.
- Selecting Refund All in the lower portion of Transaction Detail.
- Select Refund.
- Select CASH at Select a tender from the original transaction.
- On Cash: Tender Amount, select the button with the amount to refund.
- The transaction completes and receipt prints.
- Transaction Complete dialog box displays indicating Total Due, Amount Tendered, and Change Due.
- Select Reprint Receipt, Print Gift Receipt, or enter an email address in the Email Receipt field and select Email Receipt.
Note: You may select all three options in a single transaction. - Select Next Transaction.
Exchange Transaction Cash Tender
- On the Home Screen, scan the barcode from the receipt, or use Receipt to search for the receipt.
- If the customer does not have the receipt and you are allowing the refund/exchange, scan the item, or look it up using Items.
- If the item is a Quick Menu item, select it from the Quick Menu.
- Select item(s) for refund if using original receipt:
- Select Refund All in the lower portion of Transaction Detail, OR
- Selecting the check box(es) to the left of the item(s)to be refunded and selecting Refund Selected. The items will display in purple as they are selected
- Select items to sell by scanning barcodes, or locating using Quick Menu or Items.
- Select Pay.
- If even exchange the transaction will complete.
- If exchange was not even select CASH at Payment Method.
- On Cash: Tender Amount, select the button with the amount for refund or payment.
- If you owe the customer money, select the button for the amount owed, OR
- If the customer owes money, select the appropriate button based how they pay you.
- Transaction completes and receipt prints.
- Transaction Complete dialog box displays indicating Total Due, Amount Tendered, and Change Due.
- Select Reprint Receipt, Print Gift Receipt, or enter an email address in the Email Receipt field and select Email Receipt.
Note: You may select all three options in a single transaction. - Select Next Transaction.
Sale Transaction Credit Card Tender
Note: Depending on your store set up you may see an option to select Charge Card, Credit Card, or something different. Check with your supervisor for the correct option to select when the customer uses a credit card to pay.
- On the Home Screen, scan the item barcode.
- If item has, no barcode or it will not scan, select Items, search for the item, and select it from the list.
- If selling an item from the Quick Menu, select the item.
- Change quantity, if necessary in Transaction Details using the Plus or Minus sign.
- Finish scanning items then select Pay.
- Payment Method displays in Details Frame.
- Select Credit Card or type of credit card.
- Swipe/Insert card at pin pad and follow prompts.
- Card authorizes, transaction completes, and receipts print.
- Transaction Complete dialog box displays indicating Total Due, Amount Tendered, and Change Due.
- Select Reprint Receipt, Print Gift Receipt, or enter an email address in the Email Receipt field and select Email Receipt.
Note: You may select all three options in a single transaction. - Select Next Transaction.
Refund Transaction Credit Card Tender with Receipt

Exchange Transaction Credit Card Tender

- If the item is a Quick Menu item, select it from the Quick Menu.
- Select item(s) for refund if using original receipt:

OR - Selecting the check box(es) to the left of the item(s)to be refunded and selecting Refund Selected.
- Selecting Refund All in the lower portion of Transaction Detail.
- Select items to sell by scanning barcodes, or locating using Quick Menu or Items.
- Select the Pay.
- If even exchange the transaction will complete.
- If exchange was not even and you owe the customer money, select the button for the amount owed and it will be credited to customer card.
OR - If the customer owes money, swipe/insert card at pin pad and follow prompts.
- If exchange was not even and you owe the customer money, select the button for the amount owed and it will be credited to customer card.
- Transaction completes and receipt prints.
- Transaction Complete dialog box displays.
- Select Reprint Receipt, Print Gift Receipt, or enter an email address in the Email Receipt field.
- Select Next Transaction.
Delete Transaction Line
Deleting a line from any transaction at any time during the transaction, prior to the completion of the tender step.
- Select the line in Transaction Detail.
- The information for that line displays in the Detail Frame.
- Select Delete in the lower left corner of the Transaction Detail Frame.
- The line deletes from the transaction.
Cancel Entire Transaction
Cancel entire transaction at any time prior to the completion of tender.
To cancel an entire transaction before selecting Pay:
- Select the Cancel in the Transaction Detail frame.
- From the Cancel Transaction? dialog box select Yes or No as appropriate.
- A receipt will print with Transaction Cancelled printed on it.
To cancel an entire transaction after selecting Pay and/or the tender:
- Select Back button displayed in the lower left corner of Details Frame until the transaction redisplays.
- Once you have tendered the transaction you may not cancel but will have to Post Void the transaction.
WARNING: Payment processors generally do not allow Post Voids of any Credit Card transactions. Beginning spring 2019 TSYS and FDMS will require all Visa, Master Card & Discoverto be Refunded and no Post Void allowed.
Changing Tender on a Transaction
- Select Back button displayed in the lower left corner of Details Frame until the transaction re-displays.
- Select Pay again.
- Select the new tender and complete the transaction.
Add Price Override
- Select the item to price override.
- In the Details Frame, select Edit on the Price line.
- Price Override dialog box displays.
- Enter the New Price.
- If the item should also be allowed additional discounts (Transaction or Item) toggle Apply Discounts to Yes.
- Select Apply.
- The new price now displays in the Price line.
- In Transaction Detail, the item displays the new price and the original price listed below.
- Complete the transaction as appropriate.
Remove Price Override
- Select the item to remove the price override.
- In the Details Frame, select Edit on the Price line.
- Price Override dialog box displays.
- Select Remove.
- The dialog box closes, and the override is removed.
- Complete the transaction as appropriate.
Apply Transaction Discount
- In the Transaction Detail frame, select Transaction Discount.
- Transaction Discounts dialog box displays. Cancel and Apply buttons display in the lower left and right corners of the Sales Discounts dialog box.
- If your discount list exceeds the space in the dialog box, use the arrows ro move through the list.
- Select the specific discount and the line will turn purple.
- Select Apply to add the discount.
- The discount dollar amount displays above Subtotal and Tax.
- The type and discount amount display on the receipt.
Remove Transaction Discount
- In the Transaction Detail frame, select Transactions Discount.
- Transaction Discounts dialog box displays.
- If your discount list exceeds the space in the dialog box, use the arrows ro move through the list.
- Select the transaction discount to uncheck the discount.
- Select Apply to remove the discount.
Apply Item Discount
- Select the item from the Transaction Detail.
- In the Details Frame, select the Edit button on the Discount line.
- Item Discounts dialog box displays. Cancel and Apply buttons display in the lower right corner of the Item Discounts dialog box.
- Use Next or Prev. buttons to page back and forth and locate the discount, If there is more than one page of transaction discounts available.
- Select the item discount, and the background on the discount button changes to white with a green checkmark.
- Select Apply to add the discount.
- The discount type displays in the Discount line in Transaction Detail.
- The discount dollar amount displays above Subtotal and Tax.
- The type and discount amount display on the receipt.
Remove Item Discount
- Select the item from the Transaction Detail.
- In the Details Frame, select the Edit button on the Discount line.
- Item Discounts dialog box displays; Cancel and Apply buttons display in the lower right corner of the Item Discounts dialog box.
- Use Next or Prev. buttons to page back and forth and locate the discount, If there is more than one page of transaction discounts available.
- Select the item discount to uncheck the discount.
- Select Apply to remove the discount.
Suspend Transaction
- Select Suspend in the Transaction Details frame.
- Select Yes in Suspend Transaction? dialog box.
- The transaction suspends, and receipt generates.
- The receipt indicates a suspended transaction.
Resume Transaction
- Select Receipts in Details frame.
- Enter the receipt number in the Receipts field
- Change the Search Type to Suspended.
- Change the Location appropriately and select Search.
- Select the receipt from the listing and select Resume.
- Complete or cancel the transaction.
Split Tendering
- Select Pay.
- Select first Tender and enter amount accordingly.
- Select Complete.
- Select second Tender and enter amount accordingly.
- Once completely tendered transaction completes.
Adding a New Customer
You may need to attach customers to a variety of transactions such as accounts receivable sales, rental transactions, and serial number transactions.
Add a new customer and attach an account to it from the register.
- Select Customer from the Detail Frame.
- Select New Customer from the lower left corner of the Detail Frame.
- Enter the customer information.
Note: Depending on the reason for adding the customer will determine what fields are necessary to complete. - To attach an Account, select the Accounts tab.
- The Memberships tab displays membership information.
- The Rentals tab will displays outstanding rentals for the customer.
