January 23, 2022 Mosaic Release Notes

Release notes statement

New functionality added to Mosaic, may or may not be immediately available to all clients depending on functional readiness or licensing. Throughout release notes the phrase “If enabled” is used to designate capabilities that may be turned on or off. Such options may be available to a limited audience or hidden until a future update. These options will still be referenced in release notes to make clients aware of complete application capabilities.

PrismWeb Integration

Add new item(s) – To allow more flexibility with web order processing, Mosaic now supports adding items to an accepted web order during processing. In conjunction with the in-place ‘Cancel’ line item capabilities, this feature allows item substitutions.

Tax breakdown – Included with the ability to edit order contents, the application now presents per-line tax calculations. This presentation, along with the ability to edit values ensures that correct tax rates are applied when order values are modified.

Buyback

Buyback List – For improved flexibility, users are now able to set their own Buy Price for titles on a buyback list. The buyer’s guide price and used book cost are included in the buyback list to better inform buyback price decisions. By design, the default buy price is based on the price parameters set during buyback session creation.

Dashboards

If enabled, the Mosaic logo on the application landing page will be replaced by dashboard widgets. These widgets include various tables is graphics that streamline access to key performance indicators for your store. This release introduces a pair of widgets that are included as default KPIs.

Daily Sales widget – This is a quick view of sales for the current business day including, total sales, POS sales, and processed Web Sales.

Course Terms widget – This section shows all open course terms, and offers a single click redirect to term maintenance. The widget may be used to both maintain a manageable list of open terms and quickly access course materials content.

Product Search

To efficiently view the most relevant product information and support new capabilities, the product search grid has been modified as follows:

  • Catalog#/ISBN has been replaced with the primary barcode value. This change still allows book search by ISBN while also showing more relevant product UPC codes when assigned to GM items.

  • Product variants are now presented in the search grid. As stores begin capturing variants such as size and color, these values will help ensure that a Mosaic user is identifying the correct variation within a product family.

  • Selling price is included in search results. To both validate product selection and provide efficient access to key shopper information, the selling price is presented along with stock on hand.

GM Products

If enabled, Mosaic users may now create matrix items. Matrix items share product and online profiles and present all variations created by assignment of one or two associated variant groups. Upon creation, Mosaic displays the number of SKUs that will be created based on variant group(s) selected. After creation, the selection of any product variant from the product search list will present the shared product profile and all associated SKUs within product maintenance.

Course Materials

Buyers Guide Search – A new submenu appears under Course Materials to enable searching the loaded buyers guide. This search presents available buyer’s guide details for ISBN, price, and buyback price information in a view only format. Such information, on-demand or in a persistent browser tab will assist course materials managers when making content decisions.

Order Decisions – To streamline order decisions for stores who may not be using integrated point-of-sale, a user may now access stock on hand adjustments from the Edit Order Decisions screen. The new edit icons next to New and Used SOH will open Mosaic stock adjustment Modal for updates while working order decisions.

Reports

Report footers – To help organize printed report contents, all PDF reports now include the page numbers and the date and time of execution in report footer.

Report filenames – To help organize downloaded report files, each report download, PDF or csv, appends the date and time of execution to the report file. This allows you to search and sort report results in the downloaded files folder.

Author list – The Author list report accessed from course term maintenance or the report template list now includes the option to sort content by author/title.

Gift Card Summary report – The last transaction date has been confirmed to report correctly.

Misc. Enhancements & Fixes

Want Lists – When adding or editing a want list, the supplier code is now presented along with the supplier name. This change expands search capabilities to match a name or code value.

Suppliers – In addition to including supplier code as described in Want Lists, the drop down search and select for suppliers has been made consistent throughout Mosaic. Whether managing products, creating purchase orders, or managing course materials, populating the supplier field will appear the same.

Delete PO – To help maintain clean data, open or proposed purchase orders without linked receiving or invoices may be deleted from Mosaic. Deletion may be done by selecting POs from the search list or from within purchase order management.

PO Number Sequence - A temporary solution to allow a store-specific purchase order number sequence was provided for CBC. This work will be replaced with functional sequence values in a future update.
