September 8, 2021 Mosaic Release Notes

Release notes statement 

New functionality added to Mosaic, may or may not be immediately available to active clients based on functional readiness or licensing. Throughout release notes, the phrase “If enabled” is used to designate capabilities that may be turned on or off. Such options may be available to a limited audience or hidden until a future update. These options will still be referenced to in release notes to make clients aware of forthcoming capabilities. 

PrismWeb Integration

  • Web Admin – The Mosaic menu has been slightly reorganized for website integration.

    • Web Orders was renamed to Web Admin and now includes submenu selections for Web Orders and Web Setup.

    • Admin > Ecommerce Setup has been moved to within the Web Setup menu.

    • If enabled, the Web Admin menu also includes submenus to manage Web Catalogs and Web Catalog Groups.

  • GM Online Profiles – The Online Profile for General Merchandise products has been modified to match the expected values for integration with PrismWeb. These changes are included in the Mosaic API that shares product information with any authorized website integration.

    • Selling price options were removed. The online selling price is the exact value that will be presented online. With validation, the online selling price may be set to $0.00 for free items.

    • Shipping Type drop down was removed and replaced with Shipping Override. All shipping fees will be calculated per the shipping code selected upon order unless there is a shipping override. Shipping override will charge a fixed shipping amount for the product(s) where it is set. With validation, the shipping override may be set to $0.00 for free shipping.

    • Un-Publish conditions have been replaced by Inventory Tolerance. Rather than assuming a product should be removed from presentation, PrismWeb behavior acts per a store’s preference when a product’s stock on hand falls below the Inventory Tolerance value.

  • Web Orders – If enabled, the Web Admin > Web Orders menu presents all orders that are capture via PrismWeb and the associated order status. Application users may search, sort, and filter orders to ensure that orders are being worked as expected.

  • Work Order – If enabled, stores may now Work Order to create shipments and fulfill online shopping requests. Mosaic tracks web orders from capture to completion based on the order’s quantity to fill. Each time an order is worked a products may be shipped or cancelled and the payment token is processed until order fulfillment is complete.

Product Labels

  • Mosaic now supports label printing via Avery Dennison barcode printers. The “Print Label” button appears alongside each product’s price tag type. Selecting Print Label prompts for a print quantity and generates labels based on the product’s price tag type and default barcode number.

Course Materials

  • Course Requests > Print Shelf Tag – In alignment with Course Materials Settings, one can now select a shelf tag template that best matches store setup as part of the shelf tag printing process. 

Purchasing

  • Purchase Orders > Batch Work Orders – By selecting one or more purchase orders, Mosaic users may now select Work POs to navigate through order details sequentially using Previous/Next buttons. This feature allows quick review of auto generated or otherwise related purchase orders.

  • Purchase Orders > Batch Print Orders – By selecting one or more purchase orders, Mosaic users may select Print POs to print orders from the purchase order list. This feature allows printing of auto generated or otherwise related purchase orders together. Note: To ensure expected performance, a user will be notified if the batch print request exceeds application limits for PDF file size.

  • Purchase Orders > Print/Export PO – The printed purchase order has been modified for clarity. The PO header now includes the customer account number rather than billing address. Also, each product is split over two lines to provide additional product information and improve readability.

Administrator Menu

  • Store Setup – To simplify new installations, Store Setup now includes two tabs, Contact Information and Parameters. This change brings all store configuration to a single menu selection.

    • Parameters > Book Pricing Settings – The currency rounding parameter appears with book pricing parameters to clarify that rounding applies to book pricing. Currency rounding includes .01 and .10 increments, so stores can round to any level of currency they wish.

    • Parameters > Course Materials Settings – With this update Mosaic include three shelf tag templates. Stores may select the template that best matches the shelf tag format. Options include 3, 4, or 6 labels per printed page.

Misc Enhancements & Fixes

  • Order Decisions – Sales of Mosaic products via PrismPOS are now reflected in the Sales New/Used values for Order Decisions. 

  • Delete Product – A delete button/icon is now present in the merchandise General Data tab, and each book’s Book Type Details record. With user and data confirmation, the button/icon will delete a product SKU from the Mosaic database.

  • Log Out – Similar to navigating away from an active page, Mosaic presents a confirmation prompt if a user selects Log Out from an active screen.

  • Total Inventory Value report – General merchandise data now includes the default barcode, and the report layout was adjusted to avoid splitting data by column wrap.

  • Selling price – Product profiles require a selling price > $0.00.

  • Save button – To avoid accidental data corruption, application navigation is blocked until each Save request is complete.
