Changing  ODBC Connections  (32 or 64 bit)


  1. On a 32 bit machine, from the Start menu, type control.
  2. Select Control Panel.
  3. From the Control Panel, select Administrative Tool Then select Data Sources ODBC.
  4. On a 64-bit machine, from Explorer, locate the ‘C:\Windows’ folder in the window on the left.
  5. From the list on the right, locate the ‘SysWOW64’ folder, and double click it.



  6. In the new list on the right, locate the file called ‘ODBCAD32.exe’, and double click it.



  7. Both 32 and 64 bit machines should show the following dialog. Choose the System DSN tab. If WinPrism is not a data source, choose Add. If WinPrism is a data source, highlight it and press Configure and skip to step #9.



  8. If adding a new data source, choose SQL Server Native Client 10.0.



  9. Use WinPrism for the name of the connection. Enter the PrismCore SQL server IP address needed to connect to the appropriate database, followed by a comma and the port (usually 1433). Click Next when the information has been entered.



  10. Select the radio button for "With SQL Server authentication using a login ID and password entered by the user.". Any valid PrismCore software username and password can be used for the Login ID and Password fields. Call PrismCore Support if there are any problems completing this step.



  11. Click Next.  If you get any errors, double-check the IP address, port, and other previous setting If you are still not able to connect, contact PrismCore Support.



  12. The only box to be checked should be the “Use ANSI nulls, paddings, and warnings” checkbox. Uncheck all other active checkboxes. Press Next.



  13. The only box to be checked is the “Perform translation for character data”. Uncheck all other active checkboxe Then click Finish.



  14. Click Test Data Source. The result should be “Test Completed Successfully!” Press OK. If the test failed, call PrismCore Support.
  15. Press OK.
  16. Click OK to close the ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box.
  17. Log into PrismCore. If there are any problems or errors, call PrismCore Support.
